I just bought a gsg or I'd be all over this. Not familiar with it. Looks like a mix between an AR and hk?

These were intended as tactical trainers for the 556 versions (my use. A lot of folks bought them because "Sig"! Size, controls (all AR except bolt handle) , overall feel (less recoil) are spot on. They are a bit lighter but when your running and gunning training it is very close and much cheaper. Last time I bought mags they were $10. Mine ate all brands of .22, best accuracy is with Federal HV. My factory rear peep was not as good/user friendly as the Diopter rear on 556s. When I put a reflex dot on one of my 556s, I put a cheapo on the 522. Bingo! Now, you can get good quality dots for $125(+-).

I used to have one of these and got rid of it when 22lr was scarce. Only gun i wish i wouldn't have gotten rid of. I moved to Texas but if i was local I would be hard pressed not to buy it.

They are a lot of fun and make good trainers too. Would be a hoot suppressed

    Conclusion

Unless buyers are looking for a rifle that exactly imitates the function of their AR-15, the SIG 522 is quite possibly the best semi-automatic .22 training rifle on the market. The SIG is an accurate and easy to use firearm that carries substantial appeal for experienced as well as new shooters. I have no doubts that this rifle will outlast me. While I am somewhat disappointed in how the replacement of the flawed parts has played out, this is not an issue for new rifles today and I will not let it affect my decision to highly recommend this rifle.
