I am in the market for a pistol suppressor and I shoot both 40 s&w and 9mm. I saw a couple of Osprey 40s in GB, but after researching it looks like they were discontinued. Does anyone know why? I'm also looking at the Octane 45, so any advice \ information on that suppressor would be appreciated.
    Thanks for any info...

octane 45 has also been discontinued. rugged obsidian 45 is the best on the market imho, followed closely by the dead air ghost.

Does the obsidian or dead air suppressors provide better db reduction compared to the Osprey 40 or the Octane? Or is it weight savings?

Osprey and octane aren't the newest hotness but they're still very capable cans and can be found for under $400. Unless you've got to have the latest, it's a hard bargain to pass up. You can try my octane/ osprey tomorrow.
