I am not shedding any tears over his passing for sure.

John Paul Stevens remembered as 'judge's judge,' with an original approach to law.
His approach included not believing in the constitution like wanting to repeal the 2nd amendment.

Stevens' judicial career began in 1970 when President Richard Nixon nominated him to the federal appeals court in Chicago. ......... He was a registered Republican, but never active in local or national politics. .....That reputation for even-handed jurisprudence and "clean" reputation was just what President Ford was looking for in 1975 when Justice William Douglas retired after a debilitating stroke.
........JOHN PAUL STEVENS SAYS KAVANAUGH'S TEMPERAMENT DURING HEARING DISQUALIFYING..............

John Paul Stevens, the 97-year-old retired Supreme Court justice, is calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment and is encouraging anti-gun protesters to do the same.

Stevens, once the leader of the court's liberals, said the “schoolchildren and their supporters” who have been demonstrating against school shootings should “seek more effective and more lasting reform.”

“They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment,” Stevens wrote in an op-ed for the New York Times on Tuesday.

Stevens argued that the amendment – which states that “a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” – is a “relic of the 18th century.”

Repealing the Second Amendment, he argued, is the most effective way to stop school shootings. Stevens retired from the court in 2010.

Yeah, he might have planted the seed, but no one was obligated to water/fertilize it.

Maybe someday will come that when a person takes an oath to uphold the Constitution and then violates that oath they will be removed from their position.

Nah, the oath has just become words to be recited as part of the employment process. They're just part of the ceremony. After that's over, you do what you're told or we'll find someone else who will. When to comes to politicians, you can't convict those who make, control, and administer the law without their consent/approval/compliance. They have legislated themselves untouchable, but that'll change come next election, you just wait and see, or not.
