    That little boat in the pic does not look like it could lift very much and if you wanted to lift something off the sea floor and keep it in one piece I would say you need a good active heave compensating crane, All I see is a wimpy Liebherr Crane back near the heli deck and on the same side I see where the ROV would go into the water.

    the secret to Glomar, was the lifting mechanism came out of the belly of the vessel, from below, where the true intent could not be seen by the ruskies...

    I was around when this was originally reported - they actually started to raise the sub but it broke apart and they only recovered a part of it.
