In this video Billy Berger tests the penetration of stone and steel arrowheads on a freshly killed deer to determine which is more effective. I use my wooden hunting bow pulling 50 lbs at 30 inches of draw, at a distance of 10 yards. Can stone arrowheads, used for at least 10,000 years, hold their own against modern steel arrowheads? Watch the video to find out!

That was a nice little video.. Stonehead arrows have always been deadly lethal, their large downside was the time & skill it took to make them. During the 1600s there were factories in Europe making steel arrowheads for the Indian trade to the New World. As an off shoot the Indian tribes will spend less time making hunting arrows and more time on crafts and artisans ventures.

Had to flake arrowheads & spearhead for Boy Scouts back in the day.
Knapping is a time-intensive skill, but everyone should know how to do it,
just in case we all get nuked back to the stone age ;)

There is so much in the way of steel and tools. Take a long time to grow through all of them. People break ax handles but usually not the head which I have done on occasion I admit. Besides there are no suitable rocks at the surface in this part of the world. Not sure what you can do with the local iron stone. I might be surprised. Take a long time to wear quality knives and saws. Steel like stone will last a long time. you could make bows, but I would prefer to use old steering columns to make muzzle loaders once I wear out my aks and shoot up of my modest supply of AK ammo and other things that I have.
But people can do what they want this is still America lol.
