    SIG Sauer Lands Indian Army Contract
    The Indian Ministry of Defense has ofcially contracted SIG Sauer to build
    and deliver 72,400 7.62x51 mm NATO SIG716 ries for its frontline infantry
    soldiers. The Indian army, the second largest standing army in the world,
    with more than 1.2 million active troops, is currently undergoing a comprehensive
    rearm procurement process to advance the capabilities of its infantrymen.
    The SIG716 is an enhanced AR platform featuring a 16" barrel, an M-Lok
