A 4 gauge is 1.053-inch (26.7 mm). That's about what my 26.5mm grenade *launcher is, and a 4 gauge shell might fit in the chamber (they are both a rimmed case), but I would not fire a full power 4 gauge shell, as my launcher, while all steel and equipped with a recoil pad, is not as heavy as the gun in the video.

A 12 gauge shell is next to a 12ga to 26.5mm insert, next to a couple of 26.5mm shells. The white pointed projectile is a practice/test projectile 3D printed by my son in law that I need to go out and test fire.

    * = Mine has been registered as a Destructive Device, so I can fire whatever out of it.
