I know the idea of getting ahold of something about to be banned can be appealing and possibly even profitable somewhere down the line. But with the risk of up to 10 years in prison and/or a $250,000[?] fine... I dunno about dat, sounds kinda risky to me.:eek:hwell:

As the prohibition drew near, RW Arms in Fort Worth, Texas, featured a countdown clock on its website and heavily promoted last chances to buy the accessories. By the time the ban took effect, RW Arms was left with 60,000, probably worth millions, since they sell for around $150 to $250 each. The company turned over crates of them to the ATF, and a video showed boxes being loaded onto a conveyor belt and fed into an industrial grinder.

Imagine you're a small business owner and your widget offended enough snowflakes and teenagers that it was magic-wand declared illegal.

That video is difficult to watch because it represents the power of "legal" oppression.
    What a disgusting waste.

The owners of that company could go on a rage-fueled warpath, and I'd say it's completely understandable.

Those who support this kind of Big Brother empowerment are the architects of National demise...

HOWEVER! Automatics DO require a "special permit" and a bump stock makes a semi-auto fire at a similar rate to that of an automatic, so to follow the logical reason of the law a bump stock should require the same permit as the automatic not be completely banned. .

So Jerry Miculek should have a class III license for his finger?? It's not automatic fire. Even Obama couldn't come up with a bona fide reason to ban them.

no he shouldn't, bump stocks and automatics shouldn't be illegal in the first place. I'm simply trying to follow the same logic they do which is my point it's hard to follow that logic.

I feel bad for the officer who is told to come get mine, it's going to be a sad day.

BFS Were all manufactured AFTER the end date for new production and Sale/registration for machineguns/Auto sears to civilians. Therefore, there is no legal means to register them. This is another reason they weren't considered for any other NFA Category, that would have let them be registered or grandfathered and STILL ONE THE STREETS!

DOJ/ATF couldn't change what was specifically written by Congress as the end date to allow registration of BFS. It's illegal to change Congresses specifically written text. But DOJ/ATF did just that when they changed Congresses specified definition of " Machinegun" so the new version would include BF devices that the Origional Text did not.

Yes, I agree, for the person handing the guns out the door to the officer....

knee jerk reaction to the psycho (las Vegas creep) overaction, again, doesn't matter if you like BFS, or not. They were taken away in short order because something tragic happened. what's next? if they can't take the entire gun, they can now take them a piece at a time. I hope I'm over reacting.... I really do... I've been to places where only the supposedly "good guys" had weapons....

Things would be so much better if trumps gets to appoint one more judge. Regardless there will be more antigun laws, but not total prohibition. I could defend myself quite well with the garand rifle and 8 shots. Of course I would prefer something lighter and more modern with detachable magazine and do not want up to end like canada limited to 5 shot magazines and licenses needed for all gun possession.

Even if banning them WAS the right thing to do, it’s not right for one group to shoulder a financial burden that supposedly benefits the entire population.
People bought a legal product. Companies produced a legal product.
They should be paid for those products if the government wants them to give them up.
I’ve got a feeling that there are more still out than were turned in or destroyed.

this is a concern, a BIG concern, look at Cali, they have a max of 10 round nags, I think along with a few other states. My BEEF is they chipping away have begun and will continue, continue before you know it, we will have everything registered, a limited number of 5 round mags, and a limit of 100 rounds per gun, waiting in a permit to buy more ammo....

I won't be handing them over, which is why I feel bad for the person who comes to take them. I'd rather be dead or in jail, at that point I am completely controlled and can do NOTHING. I don't think they'll come for ALL guns at once. Many are right, they will chip away little by little, then when they come for the final piece, bolt action rifles with no magazines....people will be 100% defenseless. To be honest the second they say "Give us ALL your semi-auto rifles" they'll have to take it by force. I just bought 3 extra 30 round AR mags, and I buy a couple every so often. Because that's what they'll hit next is the sale of 30 round mags.

No one will be knocking on anyone's door and asking politely for guns; maybe they'll send a letter announcing intent. If they know you have guns they want, you'll be tackled by a team while taking the trash out, getting in your car in the morning, or doing some other mundane task. When you are on the ground in flexicuffs (for your protection) and thinking WTF (asking that question will get you charged with resisting), they'll enter and search your house/apartment/car, whatever. This is how they deal with a middle-aged fat guy they think has been downloading kiddie porn. They certainly won't be more polite/personal with the armed, anti-government/LE extremist their superiors have ordered them to deal with. Factor in all the political BS, and the agenda to be served, and they'll already be fearing for their lives when they arrive to set up.

The CA Ban on mags with a capacity of 10 or more cartridges was Ruled unconstitutional for the second time last week. Its dead as of now but the State may appeal it again in a higher Court.

Not sure I have that must trust in the courts. pull a liberal judge, get a liberal response. Pull a conservative judge, get a conservative ruling. luck of the draw, I guess..... 2 things can keep me awake at night... 1 - someone thinking I did them wrong. and 2 - finding myself on the wrong side of the legal system...

The state will appeal to the 9th circuit and we know how they'll rule.
