Well, it's supported by Damien Ho999, so no surprise there. That over-18 piece of political puppetry will get even worse at Hahvahd, and then he'll join his socialist bottom-feeder buddies sucking at the teats of the Nation while simultaneously stabbing it in the throat.

Everywhere you turn, some asshole is trying to destroy this beautiful Country.

Since handguns are not covered AR pistols may be ok.
“handgun” means a firearm capable of being carried and used by one hand, such as a pistol or revolver. https://dos.elections.myflorida.com/initiatives/fulltext/pdf/70490-1.pdf
The biggest thing is if this will pass the courts ""a) The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and of the lawful authority of the state shall not be infringed, except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law. ""
    https://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs...weapons-ban-proposed-for-floridas-2020-ballot
The proposal, which was posted on the state Division of Elections website earlier this month, prohibits possession of assault weapons, which it defines as "semiautomatic rifles and shotguns capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition at once, either in fixed or detachable magazine, or any other ammunition-feeding device." ...............
Military and law enforcement employees using semiautomatic weapons in their official capacity would be exempt. People who lawfully own assault weapons currently would get an exemption on the ban for a year but would have to register the gun with the state. Violating the ban would be a third-degree felony, though the Florida Legislature may designate a greater criminal penalty, according to the proposal.

you can count on the most confusing language ever to be used in the amendment proposal, so it will lead the low iq voter into voting for it thinking they are helping control gun violence

Bloomberg prints are all over this..

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. On the road to tyranny, we've gone so far that polite political action is about as useless as a miniskirt in a convent. ... Something's eventually going to happen. Government will bloat until it chokes us to death, or one more tyrannical power grab will turn out to be one too many. ... Maybe it'll be one more round of "reasonable gun control" or one more episode of burning children to death to save them from "child abuse." Whatever, something will snap.

The courts at the upper federal level may be able to help depending on what judges get appointed by Trump. It is possible that other judges may be retiring in the next year and it remains to be seen if Trump gets to appoint a replacement to Ginsburg.

For ARs since they can accept different uppers, one can register just one lower to run your uppers and hide the rest. On paper you have just to register one gun and when finally registered guns get seized or made so expensive that fees can not be paid you turn in just one complete gun. The AKs, M14s, G3s, FALs, M1 Carbines will all be covered by this law. Perhaps someone will come up with a pump action conversion for the AR so it is not longer a semi-auto gun.
I certainly think this amendment could pass.

It is not restricted to center fire. This would ban 10/22s gentlemen.
That seems to be correct and not just 10/22s, but any tube fed gun that holds more than 10 rounds. It might even include some semi-auto shoulder stocked air guns.
any semiautomatic rifle or shotgun capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition at once, either in a fixed or detachable magazine, or any other ammunition-feeding device. This subsection does not apply to handguns.

Personally, I do not see this going anywhere. Even if they get the 766,200 valid signatures that are required to put it on the ballot in 2020, I do not see it passing. It is a HUGE 2nd Amendment violation and would make felons out of thousands upon thousands of Florida residents because, you know as well as I do, the mass majority of citizens who own firearms that fall into these categories are not going to register them with the FDLE. I know that I will not.

Remember more than half of the voters are women and about half of the voters are democrats, both of the groups are more ignorant about firearms than we are here and with the proper fanfare it could get passed. Yes I am worried about it. Our best hope is that the ban against tube fed .22s gets played up since many people do own those types of guns.

not to mention the 1.2 million new democrat felon voters.. but I would guess they would vote against it, so they can have guns of their choice, to continue their life of crime on the outside when they are released..

I will not comply with any of the laws they pass...they are in conflict with the US constitution

So if a rapist walks into your house during family dinner and tells you he's going to rape someone, are you going to sit there and try to negotiate letting the rapist "only" kiss or fondle someone because "that's not as bad"?

Why in the hell does anyone on a gun forum take the stance that any part of these restrictions is acceptable?

The entire proposal is an attack on the future of our Nation.
Those who support it, misguided or not, are trying to pave the way to this Nation's demise.

If they truly want to stop criminal acts, this is not the way. But the devils with the money don't care and will keep pushing the lemmings to pass this garbage. Then, there will be a point where their motivations are no longer material, and the Patriots won't care about educating them about how wrong they are... it will be another revolution and tragic bloodshed.

That outcome only benefits the enemies of this Country.

So, back to square one: those who support taking us down this path ARE the enemies of this Country.

For now, the battle gets fought by words in the campaigns and votes in the ballot booth, but this legislative-enabled treason will cause worse problems if left unchallenged now.

Ok. You have my attention. What action can I take, if any, to help prevent this from happening. Is there anything that can be done early in the process?

There are probably at least 766,200 idiots in Florida who would support a ban on all guns. The amendment process needs to be taken away from mob rule.

Generally speaking, i vote against most of the constitutional amendments.

While this one is just plain bad on its face, many amendments on Florida ballots seem to deal with things that should be handled with legislation - not the constitution.

Sent from the largest mountain range in Florida.
