The History Guy: History Deserves to Be Remembered
    Published on Feb 8, 2019
Next Thursday, February 14 , 2019, marks the ninetieth anniversary of the St. Valentine's Day massacre. The crime shocked the nation and led to the downfall of arguably the most famous mobster of all time, Al 'Scarface' Capone. But perhaps the most important impact of the infamous crime was the role it played in the development of scientific methods of criminal investigation, and the contribution to the investigation made by one of the fathers of the discipline of forensic ballistics, Dr. Calvin Goddard.

It was also one the incidents the anti-gun people of the day pointed to as a reason to restrict full auto's with the National Firearms Act of 1934.
