Does anyone know if and when military surplus M9 will hit the civilian market? Second question will these handguns be too beat up to be worth the effort?

If you get Air Force ones, they'll be pristine & hardly used except a lot of holster time :)
The rest are a grab bag...check the bore & slide stops...

Know that CeraKote can make a loose gun get tight real fast :)
Handy thing on some milsurps...ain't no collector value, just shooter value.

how long did it take for those old 1911’s in storage to finally be released through the CMP? 30 years?

And interestingly, right about the time the army was adopting a new pistol.

I personally don’t expect to see any released for a LONG time, if at all. In fact I’d bet the government will gift/lease/sell them to potential allies long before they’re available for the likes of us.

Who da eff would want them 9mm's anyway ?? For what . . . a shooter,a collector, tractor tool box gun.
    They wouldn't be doing me any favors that's for sure. I'd pay $500 for a 1911 before i'd pay $50 for a M9.
But that's just me. --- SAWMAN

Not ours, they see around 20,000 rounds a year on each of them and are beat to shit.
