ive got a stripped billet lower that was built into a 22lr pistol. id like to change out the upper to a different caliber and wasnt sure if i just needed a new upper or would i also need any lower parts or a new buffer tube/spring?

kinda green to this but love to shoot always looking to learn.
    thanks

What kind of 22lr upper do you have? I have watched some videos on the CMMG conversion and all you would change is the BCG and magazine.

person i bought it from said its a dedicated 5 inch cmmg 22lr upper, so i dont know if it can be converted.
as long as a complete upper would do the trick thats fine.

Only thing you can salvage from the complete upper would be the upper and maybe the dust cover and charging handle. If it came assembled from cmmg, it's likely the handle and dustcover aren't going to work for full size rounds.

But the lower should work as it stands? Is the buffer a standard weight usually?
