These projectiles and powder combo couldn't give me what my gun likes. I believe I need .459 cast vs these .458 since it will shoot jacketed rounds just fine. But I couldn't get these rounds to group well in my Henry lever gun. Good looking cast rounds. My gun just doesn't like them vs some others.

I would say there is more than 3/4 of the original one lb container of powder left.

    $50 trade value for all.

Looking for factory rounds in 45-70, 30-06, .308, .45, 9mm. Or something else that tickles my fancy. Ask, I might just say yes. Doesn't have to be ammo related etc...

Free bump. Not sure about Henry, but .460 seems to be the gold standard for lead bullets in Marlins. Might Google slugging your barrel to be sure. Love me some .45-70. Good luck with sale.

#1. Take a look at the Cast Performance site. They offer bullets of different sizes in differences of .001". Very well made bullets. Have shot them in different chamberings for 30 years.
#2. I don't know what you are trying to accomplish with this 45-70 but for hunting (my only application) there are quite a few different powders that can be used. Have you tried any but 4064 ??
#3. For hunting I suggest that you use a WFNGC (hardcast). I use a 405gr from the above maker. NOTHING stops them. Even moose.
I say the above because it has been my expierance that the 45-70 is one of the chamberings that accurate loads with different combo's of powder and bullet, comes easily. ( BTW . . I use all CCI250 primers.)
I will gladly PM you some of my loads for a Marlin 1895, NEF Handi Rifle, and a Ruger #1 if it could help you.
Best of luck with your above sale sir. --- SAWMAN

Yeah, I'm new to reloading and the 45-70. I have read till I'm blue in the face about it. I was hoping to try an easy load and get a plinking round and maybe a hunting round on the first try! Haha! My barrel for sure needs a slightly larger diameter. These slugs were tumbling and keyholing like crazy. And it was not the slugs fault. Every round did the same. Slugs look to be well made. But I think I need the .459 -.460 sized cast.

accurate 5744 is a good powder for 45-70, I use it for target loads from 350-550 grain lead bullets in my sharps

I thought from what I have read/heard was that IMR4198, H4198, RL-7 were some of the better burn rates for .45-70

Ok anyone need this powder and have anything to trade for it? I'll hold onto the bullets and try a different powder, which I think is my problem.
