So let me start by saying I know almost nothing about chassis/ precision rifles but I am very interested in getting one. My problem is they all kind of look alike and it gets confusing. I have handled a few of the more common ones like: Howa, tikka, Ruger and Savage. I was most impressed by the Savage GRS. Guess my question is, is that rifle a good starting point to getting into long range shooting or is that stock, although very comfortable and unique, limiting? I’m not sure if I’m drawn to that gun because it is closer to the typical stocks that I am used to. I know this gun is going to be shot from a bipod prone or from a bench and a heavy rifle is a plus in this application, but the typical chassis rifles still seem less appealing to me.
Anyone who has had a chance to shoot one, I would love to hear from.
Also, I am wanting to stick with 6.5 creedmoor.
