So, I recently received an older model .25 ACP auto that either my great grandfather or grandfather bought at some point, and I'm trying to find some information on it. It's got JP Sauer & Sohn - Suhl on the top of the slide and is an interesting design. Was relatively simple to break down and from what little I can find on the pistol, it's a model 1919 (.25acp version of the model 1913 which was .32acp), and if one of the many sites I filtered through is right, it's a 2nd variant based on the serial number made in East Germany, likely sometime in the late 1930's-early 1940's. The pistol was found in my grandfather's safe, and had sat there since the 1950's. It's one of those curiosities, I guess. Not much a fan of the .25, but I'd still like to learn more about the pistol. If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it. I'm including some pictures, this was after cleaning it with a cloth, CLP, and some elbow grease and oiling it up. I've included some pictures (if I did this right).
