Tk5o, I don't know of any local kydex benders in Pcola but there's a plethora of ones that will make one for a TLR1 or 7. Mine pictured is a Holsterco but the short list for me is Dark Star gear, Philster, Holsterco, I think Gcode has a AIWB now but not sure if its light bearing.
Back on lights...I like the "hot spot" of the HL for ccw. It's generous inside 10 yards, I wouldn't pocket carry one for looking across a corn field but for short work it's good. I actually prefer it to my x300 for ccw. I don't have much experience with the 7 other than fondling one.

Kydex is so easy to bend, even a caveman can do it.
Buy a few sheets, fiddle with it. It's really easy to do your own.
Plethora of UTUBE vids showing exactly how to do it.

Much like woodworking, there is a mystique until you find out that it's
really easy once you learn the basics.

I have lights on any weapon I plan to use for conceal carry or home defense. If I want to use it, it’s there if not I don’t.

For my G43 I have a TLR6 and it adds basically no bulk at all.

    On my G19 I have a TLR-1 HL.

Both use a crossbreed holster. Both do not change carrying them. I’ll say that holster selection is more limited. Alienwear doesn’t make TLR1 holsters for G19 and CB doesn’t make an OWB holster for the G19. I think the G43 is more supported though.

That said you can still find holsters for them just more limited and sometimes a little more expensive.

Every one will have a different opinion. If you want a light, get one, see if you like it, and if you don’t list it back on here lol.

I agree , I carry a light in almost every weapon I have , to me there’s no any disadvantage , it’s one of those just in case things, I shoot my guns with lights attached I practice with them too. Even if I don’t need it it will be there . It’s like having high capacity magazines or extra mags , You probably don’t need them but if you do it’s there . If you are comfortable with a weapon light just carry one , there are no disadvantages. I don’t necessarily have to use it in a defensive situation , just keep it off if the situation requires you to do so.

If God had meant for man to have a light on his weapons, then JMB would have installed a rail on the 1911. He did not, ergo, any weapon light is unholy in eyes of the Almighty. Repent yea sinners and send your weapons lights to me :)

With all this talk about weapon light. I got a streamlight from a pawn shop for $64.00 with tax included. I'm order a holster off eBay next week.

Yeah it does. I've slowly been transitioning from Surefire to Streamlight.

I'm down to just 3 X300s and an old X200 I use on as a helmet light.

    How come out of curiosity?
Streamlight has really upped their game the last couple of years and IMO is putting out a near equal product for 50-60% of the cost. There are a few areas that Surefire still excels such as dual white/ir heads but outside of that I no longer think they are worth the asking price.

The Uboats have more of a cult following than function in the "regular guy genre" it seems. Of course if I was kicking in doors for a living it would Surefire everything. Haha

The Surefires are good, I just don't think they are worth the cost anymore and I've used them exclusively for almost 30 years until about 18-20 months ago when I decided to give Streamlight another look.

I wouldn't even be Surefire then unless I were running a dual white/ir light. I do have a Vampire on my Peq15 gun only because I want the dual head.

For short pistol work the TLR-HL is great, I'm pretty sure the x300 holds a beam for greater distance. I tested between the 2 lights in the back yard. The "hotspot" of the x300 holds farther out but within 20 yds the TLR is plenty bright. I'd take pictures but a quick Google/YouTube search will give plenty of data and opinions.

Yep, we're running them different. On my night stuff I'm running a Peq15 and NVGs my white light use is generally inside 25yards so the wider throw on the HL isn't as big an issue to me.

Yes you right surefire is $300 or better. I'm be looking for black Friday sales.
I'll give you a good deal on a lightly used one when you're ready.
