    Item Description

    What we have here is a shooter Colt Python .357. This is strictly a everyday meaning it looks good at a distance, but on close up you'll see the imperfections.

    Unfortunately yes, minor, but nonetheless rust pitting. Do the pics not blow up so you can see it? I could send the pics to you. 6" barrel. I was going to toy with it and send it back to Colt who at the time said they could refinish for $350. However, other then stripping the old finish via a bath in something that reveals bare metal then applying the high gloss python bluing that would be it. No metal work.

    For what it helps, I contacted Colt this afternoon and spoke with Customer Service and the Archive department. The Archive serial-number letter for a Python runs $75 and takes about 90-days. Unfortunately, they no longer accept Pythons for servicing or Royal-Bluing. Apparently they stopped doing that at least a couple years ago (according to the rep). I didn't push to get a "second opinion" though...

    There are other sources for refinish, though, if the buyer wants.

    It may well be that I spoke to them about 3 years ago dang. Actually I don't remember when other than I remember.
