Hi, I have a 1944 Ithaca that came with aftermarket sights and I’m putting the GIs back on. I have managed to replace the rear sight without issue but the front looks to be a challenge. How do you replace it, or what is the best way?

Looks like the original mounting hole may have been drilled out for the aftermarket sight. If that is the case, you will need professional help. Even if the original hole is intact, you will need a specialized tool to do the job right. I would suggest that you contact Phil at Jay's in Pensacola. That's what I would do if it were mine. In fact, come to think of it, that IS what I did with mine. He did a great job at a reasonable price.

Thank you for the reply. That is actually what I have done and I took it to Jay's last week. He said it would take him some time but he'd fix it up right. Thank you again.
