looking for an a2 upper receiver assembly, or even a a2 barreled assembly (minus the receiver) with govt profile barrel and f-marked front sight post. Almost seems as though they no longer exist in the wild. what a shame

    Any leads or links?

I assume you are looking for a 20" barrel. Is this correct? As far as the F marked FSB goes, these are designed for use with flat-top upper receivers. There is only .04" difference between a F marked FSB and a standard FSB. For an A2 upper receiver, all you need is a standard FSB. You can compensate if need be by using a slightly taller front sight post like such.

I have the Model 1 Sales A2 upper with govt profile chrome lined A2 1 in 7 twist bbl and could not be more pleased with it. It is used on my M16A2 configuration lower. Several forum members have seen or fired it locally.

Edited to add: Just checked. Mine does not have a F marked front sight base, but then the bbl is on an A2 upper, not a flat top upper. I've fired 1249 rounds since new. So far my throat erosion gage shows no wear. In this bbl, I've fired probably 95%+ full auto with semi auto only for sighting in and testing ammo and triggers. I fire 20-30 rounds full auto, generally 20 rounds, and let bbl cool some, but not fully back to ambient temp, so I'm not too rough on the bbl. Did fire in one continuous burst a Magpul D60 round drum to see if it worked...it did and seemed to take forever. Also have a 11.5" chrome lined 5.56 upper from them, also used full auto with no problems in 1939 rounds. They don't say what the bbl steel is, but suspect 4140 as they call it "chrome moly".

Yesterday, via a FB message, I recommended the M1S 20" A2 upper assembly to Kenny.

Why don't you call me . 850-5726611 jj

just logged back on. Sorry about missing your message JJ. BradB found a great price on an a3 assembly, with carry handle, from PSA today and steered me in that direction, which I made the order.
