A few small internal differences in the slide that make no difference in use, and a different grip texture on the frame. That's basically it.

Your making it waaaaaaaaay too complecated.
    #1. Choose the chambering.
#2. Choose the size. (length of bbl, slide, grip) CAUTION: DO NOT come to any conclusions until you have actually gripped them. A side by side comparison would be better. The size is the same on some models. The Glock 19,23,and 32 are exactly the same except for caliber and mag. Same with the 26 and the 33.
Where the differences really show are with the, what I call, speciality Glocks. The 30,43,42,etc,etc.
#3. Most parts and aftermarket stuff will fit most all the Glocks. Especially smaller parts and sights.
#4. Read up,study up. IMHO the Glocks are the easiest pistols to lesrn of them all. ---- SAWMAN

    I'm a big fan of 9mm glocks... depending on what I wear, I carry a glock 19, 26 or 43...

Glocks are tools, although I have several I’m not attached to any of them . I usually have one on or near me most of the time. As has already been said pick the caliber you want and then try each size to see which one fits your hand best. Most gun commercial gun ranges have rental glocks in several sizes and calibers making it reasonably easy to try them out.

Go straight to gen5 if it’s offered in the particular model you’re interested in. They’re well worth the premium IMO.

there always seems to be a load of these for sale, thats what prompted the question. is there that much of a difference between the versions.

Yes, main one being no stupid finger grooves and a better, lighter, smoother trigger out of the box. Not to mention the backstraps, which allow you to get up higher on the frame without fear of slide bite.

So my gen 3’s weren’t perfect? Should I just dispose of them and get gen 5 perfect ones? :boink::boink: :bolt:

I own more than a few Glocks. None of which are Gen 4,5,or the "new and better" X,Y,or Z versions.
My Glocks have some mods done to them, including undercutting the rear of the trigger guard. These Glocks are hunters and carry guns for different occasions/dress.
I will buy one more Glock,a 42. It will be my "old man gun". My last carry gun. Will buy that soon for familiarity and break in. Will also buy 380Auto ammo in bulk. --- SAWMAN
