An Oregon hunter is in critical condition after falling from his tree stand and getting tangled in his harness over 20 feet in the air, hanging upside down for two days.

The man identified as Eddie Voelker, 70, suffered critical injuries and is in a medically induced coma after being airlifted from the area near Umatilla National Forest to a hospital in Richland, Wash., KTVZ reported.

With modern harnesses... there is no excuse for this to happen. But laziness will always be a thing... so it will always happen.

if he was hanging at 20 feet, how high was he?

you don't usually go 30 feet in a tree stand.

Can’t imagine hanging upside down for two days. Surprised he didn’t die from a stroke.

I don't know of too many 70 year olds that still climb up a tree to hunt, most of the ones I know that still hunt are in box stands or ground blinds. The day I can't pull myself up to get out of a situation like that is the day I quit going up trees! As it is I prefer the comforts of a box stand or ground blind these days anyways!
