If I reload 110gr in 270 and use 3000fps data in a 22 inch barrel should be in neighbor hood of 2900fps will these work for small deer size game.iseen where they were using in 6.8 at 2700fps on deer.

Check with the maker to see if they can handle that velocity on deer and properly penetrate without blowing up.

Yes it would work Just fine. My wife uses a .243 with 100 grain soft point projectiles @ 2900 +- and it works great so a 110 grain would as well

I run 130 Accubonds over H4831SC @ about 2750 and it kills them really dead...goes all the way through too.

I was really temped to buy the 270WSM that was for sale here a few months back. Wanted to do some experimenting with bullets a somewhat >270Win speeds.
I hunted with a guy for several years that used a 270Wby Mag and was pretty impressed with his far out kill shots on the bigger Maine whitetail. Have a buddy now that has been using a 270AI for quite some years and has been pleased with it's extended ranges.
The Accubond line is a well made bullet and will hold together at the top end of the speed "window". They are almost the same as the Ballistic Tip Hunting line of bullets. ---- SAWMAN

I didn't realize Ballistic Tips were bonded. I have found them to be somewhat explosive at high velocities.

you might be able to talk me outta my .270WSM.

Hell yeah . . . we could meet at the local Hooter's for lunch and discuss it.
I have a bud that wants to give me 85 pieces of once fired brass. That would be another chambering that I would have to tool up to reload for. Was up to 16 . . now down to 11 . . . jeeeeeeze !! Is it a "common" shell holder ?? ---- SAWMAN

    Per Sierra:

For rifles, the 110 grain #1810 bullet was originally designed as a long-range varmint bullet. However, savvy shooters have long known that if impact velocity is kept to a reasonable level, this bullet is also effective on medium game. Superbly accurate, easy on the shoulder, fast and effective, it is ideal for large varmints and medium game at long range. Sierra's Spitzer design guarantees flat trajectory and dependable expansion. This bullet features double taper jacket construction for good penetration and dependable expansion on medium game.

The Sierra website does not specify what speed is "a reasonable level".

if I used a WAG...no science involved... I would go 28-2900 fps. My .25-06 runs 117 gr BTSP Interlocks at 2995 and they are like THor's Hammer on deer. I do not think the Pro Hunter is as tough of a bullet as an Interlock. I don't know what his expected ranges are either. I think he is on track with a good starting point. I sure wouldn't run them at 3300.
