It's a "Waffen Werks" AK74 with plum furniture that I purchased from Classic Firearms several years ago. It's a fine, low cost rifle...functioned perfectly and seemed reasonable accurate. I believe I took it to the range one time, cleaned it up and put it away. I'd consider selling it if I could also sell the ammo, of which I have more than I offered for sale here. I'm much more of an AR kind of guy (have several). I bought the AK on a whim. Had an AK47 too, and sold that some time ago.

Interested in any trades for the 74? I've got AR stuff out my yang. Not really interested in the ammo as I've already got a ton of it.

Thanks, but I'm not sure what I'd want to trade for, as I generally buy what I want. Like many of us, I have put together ARs I've never fired and have a stack of stripped lowers, parts kits and barreled uppers I haven't even looked at yet (damn you, PSA ;). Plus, I'd hate to have a bunch of ammo and nothing to shoot it thru. This is the first time the rifle has been out of the safe in years and it looks better than I remember...might have to go shoot it.

THat is a fine looking AK74 and I remember thinking about getting one from Classic when they had them. Now they are hard to get and pricey!

Thanks, tros6t. This thread has made me consider selling the rifle, and I'd have to agree with you. My internet search found few results, and a couple of gunbroker sellers seem proud of theirs.

Thanks But I am an AR guy. Had an ak 47,VERY NICE, but....

My 7.62x39 psa AR is stupid accurate and reliable and cheaper.

Hence trying to replicate in 5.45x39

    good luck sir

There were a few people making bolts/barrels for the ARs. I've used Ballistic advantage and Adams arms/voodoo parts for a couple. With the surplus ammo supply dried up and the commercial ammo on par or sightly more expensive than 223, demand plummeted for the AR conversions. I like mine but the mags are the weak link. I've not found a metal mag that's reliable with more than 20rds loaded. The pmag/emag option wasn't much better. They're great for the range but at this point 5.45 doesn't offer anything over 223 so unless you've got a ton of ammo laying around and/or you just want something different there's not much reason to get a 5.45 upper.

Oldman, if you're really interested in a 5.45 upper, pm me. I think Adams still has some available. It's going to be high $500s for a complete, piston upper.
