I had a ss Rossi I bought from another forum member that was reliable and still is according to the friend I sold it to. The sale help fund a 357 mag 6” stainless GP 100 I bought from another member, that one will go to my grandsons I just need another one to keep them from arguing. The Rossi was okay while the Ruger is awesome

I've heard good things about the Rossi's as well in my research. I'd check gunbroker as well as the local shops that deal in used. Hell, the new price on those is roughly the used price for a Ruger GP or SP. Their fit and finish isn't as good as a S&W or Ruger, but for a boat gun it should do you well.

    I carry a 686 when I’m on the water,
It’s not “inexpensive” per say, and personally I’d pay the difference for a used ruger over a Rossi. In fact, you ought to be able to find a smith 60 or 64 for the same or less than a sp/gp, but they’re 38’s.
    In fact, I don’t shoot 357, and I don’t own a 64....

Thanks for all the posts regarding my wtb ,this will be a gift to a friend. If it were going to be kept by me it would have to be a larger cal as I believe in stopping power not to say a .357 mag wont stop a attacker but I don't own one I prefer something with a little more mass.

What are you trying to stop? Sasquatch? Godzilla? I gotta say, this is the first time I've ever heard the stopping power of a .357 mag called into question. LoL

I have owned two different Taurus revos. One,chambered in 454Casull.
Both guns were "over built" and gave me no problems whatsover. The semi autos are another story however.
Taurus still has a lifetime warranty I do believe. They have multiple models in stainless.
ADDED: There are several 180gr hardcast loads offered in the 357Mag chambering also. Super "larger beast" ammo. --- SAWMAN
