They are a credit card transaction processor from what I understand and they were declining any purchase to any business that sold guns and gun related things like tee shirts for example.
Campbell, a former Indiana sheriff, had just switched credit card processors this spring — to Intuit, the parent of TurboTax and Quicken software — when the trouble began, he said.

Intuit told Campbell it mistakenly believed firearm sales were being made directly to the customers.

Campbell explained the guns were shipped to a local dealer with a federal firearms license who ran the required background checks. Intuit was unmoved.

Campbell said if he knew of Intuit’s stance, he would have simply moved back to his previous processor. “It’s fine, it’s capitalism, and if you don’t want to do business with us, we don’t want to do business with you,” he said.

Intuit did not return several requests for comment.

Honor Defense, a Georgia firearms maker that ships only to other dealers, had a similar experience with Intuit.

Gary Ramey, president of Honor Defense, told Gun Talk radio host Tom Gresham that Intuit “reversed charges” on his customers as well. https://nypost.com/2018/06/11/gun-businesses-scrambling-after-credit-service-halts-payments/

The fallout from the recent SC case where a baker did not want to do business with a same sex couple.

Looks like we are headed back to the cash in hand and buying all your guns at shows or local dealers. Seems like the NRA is large enough to open their own bank and clear these transactions on the open currency/credit market.

Armslist is where it's at........face to face, cash, no paperwork. Best thing since sliced bread. Use it while you can, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they shut it down.

Intuit being a "Transaction Processor" does not fall into laws/restrictions that keep banking institutions from discriminatory business practices in the State where the issue was reviewed regarding the legality of Intuits actions. The Banks can't restrict lawful transactions, that's why some banks now want some form of tracking/flagging of firearms related sales. There's no clear reason for what the captured data will be used for, though most belive it will be a future credit risk indicator and not reflected favorably upon.

Do banks/financial institutions currently track any other types of transactions? Why?
