Any recomendations for a good quality, off-the-shelf 30-30 reloading die set? I have zero rifle reloading experience. I like RCBS pistol dies, but could use some recommendations for rifle. Press is single stage Hornady. Thanks in advance.
RCBS is good. I would buy carbide does for rifle loads to reduce the chance of a case sticking in the die.
Dillon Precision makes carbide rifle dies. I think you can buy the resizing die separate. You will still need to use some lube on your cases but makes resizing easier.
I second the statement about carbide not being needed. If I was going to load large quantities like 1,000's of rounds I might consider it, but the average shooter will not be shooting high quantities.Because of the severely tapered case wall, the extra long neck with it's somewhat gentle taper at the shoulder, the 30-30Win brass is super easy to resize.
IMO no need for the more expensive carbide. I have a set of RCBS that I have been using since 1981. ---- SAWMAN
