For most serious buyers of a 308/AR the initial price of the weapon is just a start. Most get the urge to start adding aftermarket stuff, both cheap and expensive.
"Good" glass, scope covers,rings/mounts,stock,forearm assemblies, slings and mounting hardware, grips, muzzle devices, etc, etc, are just a few of the makin' it mine movement.
However . . . I consider a good trigger and good glass(mounted correctly) are the two things that are mostly overlooked or hafassed.
It is really easy to put a bunch of money into making your AR yours. And you will most likely never get out of it what you put into it. I mean . . . why would someone want to pay for your upgrades.
    I have several AR's that I will most likely die with . . . UNLESS . . . I give them away. ---- SAWMAN
ADDED: BTW, I have a DPMS 308/AR and it is a 1.5MOA gun. Love it.

understand completely, I still have the original wheels and tires on my truck... lol I have a few other guns around here, all I ever did was add optics. no slings, since I only carry them from the truck to the shooting bench, which is about 20-40 feet depending on where I park. to be honest, I figure the manufacturer designs the guns to operate with the bits and pieces their being sold with. if it works, I'm good with that... (I did change out the furniture on some of my AK's though... ) I'll sleep on it again tonight, will make the call tomorrow after I recover from fishing this afternoon/evening... Thanks. jim

Which AR and scope do you have coming ??
Make sure to pick the "right" scope rings/mounts. It usually is the Burris P.E.P.R. for me . . . however I have used others.
Whatever you choose, they must be 1.0 - 1.50 inches high. This, depending on the stock and size of scope main tube. --- SAWMAN

I like the PA stuff, (2.5 and 5X) I have on the AR's so I figured I'd try this one. If I don't like it, I'll sell it and try another...

I see you're in Cantonment, I am in that area as well...

Looks to be a great choice for the 308Win chambering.
Was unaware that PA made a FFA scope with that much power . . AND . . with that reticle. Will have to take a look at those. Own all Leupold and Zeiss now. Could possibly take the slide over to PA for the correct applicstion.
Looks to be a 30mm main tube also. A plus for increased field of view.
Let us know how that combo works out for you.
Do you happen to reload for the 308Win ?? ---- SAWMAN

Not reloading just yet, this is my first 308. I have some ammo (steel case) here I'll be working with. I don't plan on shooting eggs at 1K yards, but I would like to try the pigs someday.... I like the PA scopes/optics, they seem to be very high quality and work extremely well with the 223's. I do have to find a longer range to shoot at from time to time. the one I go to only goes out to 140 yds or so..... That's not far for this set up at all, but I'll get her sighted in this week I hope....
