Many people don't know about these. There is a cyclinder shaped bayonet lug mount. The actual "lug" is inserted into the mount and pinned. The bayonet then locks onto the lug and rides on the flash suppressor like all others. You will need to purchase the lug and pin separately.

Note: Sig rifle configuration vary widely. Some forend attachment points may use a portion of the cyclinder shaped lug mount. Some configurations have short forends with distance to flash suppressor being too long for correct mounting.

Was looking into this and found there might be issues on using this on modern rifles:

    "Fits: SIG Sauer 556 Rifle, SIG 551-A1, SIG 556 Pistol, SIG 550, SIG 551, SIG 552 & SIG 522 (.22 caliber)
SIG USA does NOT supply any of their rifles with bayonet lugs. They do however provide a mounting point / round hole type of socket at the bottom of the gas block to attach the lug. The MFI SIG 550/1/2 Bayonet Lug slips into this hole and is held in place by a drive pin / roll pin (included with every lug) that is easy to install.
This allows the attachment of most US / NATO (M7, M9 or M11) bayonets. This is NOT for Swiss bayonets."

Got it figured out: the adapter in your link is different, for adapting NATO M7,9,11s. Mine is straight like a rod, round peg into round hole. Lol

    This link shows both types:

For Swat Quadrail forend (reduced base to fit quadrail but should work on all models except those with short forends like the Patrol or Patrol SWAT.

Pick one to match the bayonet style you like best. I must say the Swiss are very finely made just not too stealthy. Lol

I would love to know. Is your lug the Swiss (SIG) lug. I have been reading more, it seems there are the Swiss pattern lugs and U.S. made lugs. Conflicting info on which stickers fit which lugs:

"If you use the Swiss lug, you are limited to using the Stgw-57 or Stgw-90 bayonets only, they are very nice quality items but just basic bayonets and the Stgw-90 bayonet is fairly expensive.
If you use the U.S. style lug, you can then use any of the multitude of bayonets that are made to fit the M-16/AR-15 and the new Eichorn multi-function bayonets."

I have an M-7 pattern sticker, but I like the look and quality of that Swiss sticker better!

That matches what I thought after reading all the information. I believe the NATO compatible one is the best, as it allows use of the bayonet I already have!

    Thanks, Ray
