I have a WW2 1911. Ithaca slide and Remington frame. It's in rough shape. Mechanically, it's great. I was told there was a local (Pace) guy that does really good work. Any help would be great!

Not sure if he does refinishing work but Patrick Bussey is an excellent smith IMHO. He helped me with a 1911, my XDM and will be asking him to work on one of my revolvers soon. He also works on the Eglin/Hurby SF team guys weapons which to me is the highest of endorsements. https://www.facebook.com/busseygunworks/

If that was my WWII 1911, I’ leave it as is and get a nice glass/acrylic display box for it.

I've considered putting it on display but since I'm never going to sell it, I would love to get her looking good.

    good decision...

that would drive me nuts, leaving a gun like that in a case...

clean it, re-blue or parkerize, and load it up

Send it to Fords Custom Refinishing. They to a great Parkerizing job. Not cheap, but really first class.

Why not just refurb springs, extractor whatever and leave as is? Clean whatever corrosion is on it, hit that joker with some museum or car wax to help keep rust at bay and bang away. People spend money making new glocks look like that, I say flaunt what she’s got.
