does anyone in the Pensacola/pace Milton area have a stuck case remover? I have 3 .223 sizing dies with stuck cases in them. no I did not get them stuck. one I purchased, one my son in law did and I did do the third on but I did lube the case.

if I could come to you and get them out I would appreciate it.

    thanks

1/4X20 Tap, #7 drill bit, Grade 8 1/4X1 1/2 bolt, thick washer, and a shallow 9/16 socket ought to do it

Back the decapping stem all the way out or as far as you can before the expander bottoms in the neck
drill through the primer pocket into the case head with the #7 bit.
tap the hole with a 1/4X20 tap.
thread a 1/4X20X 1 1/2 grade 8 bolt (grade 5 won't hold up) with the washer through the ratchet end of the socket and into the threads of the case.
rest the outside edge of the nut end of the socket on the die and tighten the bolt.
you only have to move the case a small amount for it to fall out of the case.
if you don't have a vice you can screw the die in from the bottom of the press and tighten the die lock nut

all of this is at Lowe's or Home Depot

    picture has a 1/2" socket

yep...that's about it. 7/32 drill is for NF thread, # 7 bit is for NC or 1/4-20...not sure you need a crescent wrench that large for a tap handle...if you back it up for chip removal it probably won't spin the die either.

I didn't ask what kind of die it was. Lee and Dillon have built in stuck case removers, don't know some of the others, but RCBS and Redding don't.
