So much cool history here! Designed to arm rear echelon, motorized, and artillery units, the M38 carbine followed in the footsteps of other Mosin Nagant carbines and has a very handy length. They broke from the Russian tradition of "human wave" tactics with these weapons as they do not have a provision for a bayonet. One of my favorites. Only selling to help fund another project. Priced below the average recent similar Gunbroker sales, plus you will save shipping and transfer. Here are the details: An older import. NO BILLBOARD stamp from importer on receiver. Import stamp is on barrel discretely. Built in 1943 at the Izhesk plant, refurbished post-war, metal near 100%, stock is a LAMINATE M44 type with a good finish, parts are stamped matching, a good shooter, bore is good with a counter-bore as is common on these war-time weapons. Comes with a Russian dog-collar sling and one 20 round box of Heavy Ball non-corrosive 7.62x54r ammo. Yes it is loud and does kick, but I have never found it anything but enjoyable.
