Biggest peace deal in 200 years. Really? Bigger than the deal that ended WW1 or WW2?. The deal that ended the Cold War. Nuclear Arms Non Proliferation treaties, the Salt Treaties, I could on. Also, this is the fourth time in recent memory that N Korea has agreed to meet with the West. Every time it has been a smoke screen. Lets not count our chickens just yet. Finally, you need to be careful about starting to pick up Trump's tendency to exaggerate everything.

    Now back on topic. . . . .

If Trump cured cancer liberals would still bitch about it, if you're rooting against Trump then you're rooting against your own country.

Not rooting against Trump, but have my eye open to his many many many flaws.

If we lose the midterm elections and see a whole waive of Democratic lawmakers come in to the peril of our gun rights, it will be because Trump has so aggravated the other side with his rhetoric, his hate speech, his endless stream of lies. In short, I see Trump as a bigger threat to the Second Amendment than any prior president in my lifetime.

Truly remarkable that these companies knew to make big payments into a totally unknown LLC operated by Trump aide who had no position inside the WH and no formal role on the campaign.

Apparently you turned a blind eye to Obama’s many faults because I never saw you post anything negative about him on here.

True liberal form here blaming others for their actions, already making excuses for the gun grabbing liberals by projecting it on to Trump.

I grabbed this from an article regarding the significance of the Cohen payments:

    What does it all mean?

There are several important points to take away from Avenatti's allegations.

First, the story undercuts the accounts given by Trump and another of his attorneys, Rudy Giuliani, about the payments to Daniels. Giuliani has said Trump wasn't aware at the time about what his retainer to Cohen was buying — the Daniels agreement or anything else — and didn't learn about it until recently. But Trump said Giuliani didn't have a good grasp of the facts, without substituting any of his own.

It would be a big deal if Trump knew he hadn't reimbursed Cohen or knew that Vekselberg had underwritten the nondisclosure agreement. It would confirm his awareness of a financial relationship between Trump's camp and a Russian oligarch whom the United States included in the list of people hit by economic restrictions earlier this year in retaliation for the election interference.

Second, the story appears to depict a previously unknown influence business that Cohen was running early in the Trump administration, apparently selling his access to corporate clients. Companies including AT&T wanted to know what to make of Trump and his advisers and evidently were paying Cohen to find out.

Third, and more broadly, Avenatti's document changes the nature of the Russia imbroglio from a story about potential personal relationships and long-term conspiracy to one about money and payments.

Were powerful Russians other than Vekselberg paying people in the Trump camp? If so, when did those payments begin and what did they buy? How much of the money is traceable?

    This just in:

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, contacted the drug giant Novartis after the 2016 election "promising access" to the new administration, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller later requested information from the company about the offer, a senior official inside Novartis told NBC News on Wednesday.

"He [Cohen] contacted us after the new administration was in place," the official said. "He was promising access to the new administration."

At the very least Trump needs to put as much distance between himself and Cohen as possible. While he is at it, he needs to fire Rudy and hire an actual lawyer who know how to practice law and knows the facts.

The drug maker also said Wednesday it had been contacted in November 2017 by lawyers from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office regarding the agreement with Essential Consultants. “Novartis cooperated fully with the Special Counsel’s office and provided all the information requested. Novartis considers this matter closed as to itself and is not aware of any outstanding questions regarding the agreement.”

So Mueller knew of this at LEAST 6 months ago. I am guessing that Mueller asked Cohen for documents related to this and the other companies involved and he played stupid/handed over incomplete document sets, and that's what got him raided.

It was not at all, I imagine, about Trump sleeping with porn stars.

The big question is: Did Trump know, or was it just Cohen hustling for himself?

I think we're going to find out relatively soon.

And when I say relatively soon, bear in mind that it took 4 years for a special prosecuter to find out that Clinton got a hummer at work.

Since [Stormy] Daniels never has claimed that she was forced into a supposed sexual relationship, the only basis for any claim ... was her threat to make her claims about a supposed affair public to injure Trump's reputation. Would that violate federal law? Good question. And somehow, I doubt that [Robert] Mueller is investigating that.

If the campaign paid for the hush money payment (even if the relationship was not true) that would be an election finance law violation. If Cohen paid the money himself to help the campaign then that would be an illegal campaign contribution (because of the amount of money paid) and an election finance law violation. If Cohen paid for the hush money himself and the campaign paid him back, that is a election finance law violation. If Cohen loaned the money and Trump paid him back in the form of fee retainer's as suggested by Rudy then that would create possible criminal tax law issues for Trump. The scenarios all look bad. Add to that fact, we now know that Cohen was selling access to Trump to foreign corporations, domestic corporations, and to a Russian Billionaire and things get much worse.

No, I don't think Mueller is investigating this matter against Cohen. He uncovered this possible crime as part of his investigation and turned it over to the US Attorney's office in the Southern District of New York. This office looked at it and decided on its own to raid Cohen.
