    The ATF recently unveiled proposed regulations for a "bump stock ban." And, sadly, all gun owners should be very concerned.

    You may remember that ATF had initially discussed regulating any accessory which accelerated the "firing rate" of a semi-auto.

    First and foremost, these proposed regulations will treat bump stock devices as machineguns, but they will also do much more.

    These regulations also raise serious questions in regard to your AR-15s or other semi-automatic rifles -- as they are now on the brink of being designated as machineguns by the next anti-gun administration.

    By now most of you have heard about Deerfield, Illinois unconstitutionally banning not only "bump stocks" and 'assault rifles' but with language so vague that it bans virtually all semi-autos including handguns, with individuals facing $250-$1000 dollar a day fines for non-compliance. ( https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-06/illinois-town-bypasses-constitution-us-citizens-given-60-days-turn-guns-or-become) From the article;

    "Also included in the gun ban were semi-automatic pistols which can accept higher than 10 round magazines. That’s virtually all full size semi-automatic pistols."

    The ATF may be headed in the same direction unless a tidal wave of comments opposing this ban is received.

    The ATF is accepting comments on regulations on bump stocks until June 27, 2018 at 11:59 PM ET.

    Saw this earlier today...
    Of the more than 17,000 public comments received so far by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a review by Reuters of 4,200 turned up only 10 favoring the bump stock ban. Almost all the rest criticized the proposal as heavy-handed, unnecessary or unconstitutional.

    The public comment period on the bump-stock ban proposal expires on June 27. Gun-control advocates vowed to weigh in.

    “We are rallying our members and we will be putting in a whole additional series of comments,” said Avery Gardiner, co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a Washington-based group dedicated to reducing gun deaths. “The numbers will shift,” Gardiner said.
