Need a little help on wildlife laws.
I have two beavers in the lake behind my house that are coming up in the yard and taking down trees that I don't want them to destroy.
Im in Gulf Breeze and not sure how to handle it. Beaver repellant?
Will the authorities trap and relocate?
    Anybody had this problem?

You're asking us how to handle a couple beavers?

Were they wet from the lake when they were acting naughty with your wood?

Shave them. Take pictures of the shaved beavers and then sell the pictures.

    EDIT to add:

If you want to ptrotect your wood from the questionable beavers, you should wrap it:

Gardens, ornamental plots, and small ponds can be fenced in with woven wire mesh. This can be ½-inch mesh hardware cloth or 2×4-inch welded wire. Fencing should be at least 3 feet high and buried anywhere from 3 to 4 inches in the ground, driving metal rods in the ground to secure it in place. Individual trees can be wrapped with this fencing as well, keeping it at least 10 inches or so from the tree.

If safe, a nuisance wildlife permit, thermal scope, suppressed rifle, subsonic ammo, and someone or two who wants to eat Beaver....:hungry:

FWC will issue a permit to trap them on your property at no cost.
I got the permit and bought some snares several years ago to try to get rid of some of the rodents that were causing my property to flood.
Turns out, I'm as bad at trapping as I am at fishing... didn't catch a damned thing.

Sorry guys, Ive been away for a few days after posting the Beaver problem.

I never know there were so many experts on the subject! Sounded more like a frat party. Funny!

Wouldn't be practical to shoot, even with a can. Neighbors too close and too nosey.
Wildlife permit my be an option, but Im not a trapper.
Anyway, I think wrapping tree trunks with aluminum foil will probably be the best route.
Again, thanks for the expertise. I knew I could count on you guys!

Every time I see this thread title, I think it's going to be about a pool party that ran off the rails! :thumb:

Just as the title says. I have 2 beavers (water swimming dam building wood destroying nuisance critters) in the back yard.
Temporarily they are busy in a neighbors yard, is it gives me some time to decide their fate.

When we weren't there we had beavers at our old hunting camp taking out the Sawtooth Oaks we had planted around the pond. 3-4 foot high metal fencing bought cheaply in 50' rolls at Lowes took care of the problem. Of course when we were there spotlights and 12 gauge shotguns with buckshot were in use when the sun went down in an attempt to eliminate them. We never could get rid of all of them and must have killed 10-15 of them, they are now the new owners problem! We did discover it's a blast to blow up a bloated one with Tannerite that we had fished out of the pond the next day!
