From what I have read, your serial number should have a vertically oriented H P or P H on the barrel if it is an original barrel. I have been looking for this barrel for several years myself and posted in the WTB section awhile back. The Standard Catalog of Colt Firearms notes some of the "Six Digit" 1911s are more valuable than others, and you can find relevant pages for free with a google search.
Sorry to jump on this late, but I just came across it. The frame and its components appear to be correct as far as I can see. The slide however, appears to me a WWII replacement and I would suspect the barrel to be WWII likewise. No 1911 from 1918 was originally parkerized. Some were brush blue, and others had a black phosphate finish. The finish on yours looks about the right color for a WWII rebuild. All in all, you still have a very nice pistol that any one of us would be proud to own.
