Not sure if this is the right place but figured it matched out of all the other choices. So been playing with 3D printing and came across a trigger block file. It allows you to dry fire your trigger group in the lower, preventing the hammer from hitting other metal and scarring. I made a prototype (Low fill %) for testing and well it works, but for sure need to make it solid. Current prototype was a 1 time use item. Hope you all enjoy.

Now to find an upper, print a butt stock and grip, and barrel.

    Next project is almost there.

That's cool. I have something of similar function, but a different design (I bought it). It looks like this (it's a separate piece from the lower vice block):

I wonder if high density 3D printing this design would be able to stand the impact from the hammer?

I like the concept and might have to design one like that to try. Looks like it just uses the forward takedown pin to hold in place?

Yes, and it extends below the pin, almost against the front of the receiver, so it can't rotate up so high that the hammer doesn't hit it.

I have an "IN" with jabuchko, he's my son IN law. I have one of his prototypes. Had to file a little off to get it to fit. Have now dry fired it 75 times. It's life span seems to depend upon what hammer is in the lower. A wide mil spec hammer spreads out the hit...should last a long time. An aftermarket narrow hammer concentrates the hit...shorter life span.
