It is difficult as a gun shop to find a credit card company as more and more are banning those sales.

Citi group, the fourth-largest bank in the United States, has announced it will no longer do business with clients that do not meet a host of progressive gun control requirements, none of which are mandated by federal law.

In a blog post, Citi group announced:

Under this new policy, we will require new retail sector clients or partners to adhere to these best practices: (1) they don’t sell firearms to someone who hasn’t passed a background check, (2) they restrict the sale of firearms for individuals under 21 years of age, and (3) they don’t sell bump stocks or high-capacity magazines. This policy will apply across the firm, including to small business, commercial and institutional clients, as well as credit card partners, whether co-brand or private label. It doesn’t impact the ability of consumers to use their Citi cards at merchants of their choice.

The issue has more to do with who you are discriminating against. Discrimination against folks because of race, sex, sexual orientation (there are other similar classes) is not permitted as these individuals are deemed to be protected classes. The prohibition against discrimination extends to private businesses who offer their services to the public. For example if I owned a bar here in Florida, I could not have a sign out front that said "no gays allowed" Homosexuals are a protected class. Ditto on blacks etc . . . But I could have a sign up that said "No Auburn fans allowed". Fans of particular sport's teams are not a protected class.

Gun owners are not deemed to be a protected class - in part because collectively, we have such a strong political voice. Therefore, Youtube can single them out for this type of treatment.

Edited to clear something up Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 -- the federal law which prohibits discrimination by private businesses which are places of public accommodation -- only prevents businesses from refusing service based on race, color, religion, or national origin. Some twenty states have passes laws prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. The state of Florida does not have law protecting gays but most counties and cities in this state do.

    Hope this helps.

so we all should identify as queer gun owners, and sue them..

they will fall over backwards to change their minds..

    screw Citibank....

they were put out of business, and made to undergo training....wrong decisions, and this issue will return, and to scotus I think.

In its 2015 decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the Colorado Court of Appeals unanimously ruled in favor of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, which sanctioned Jack Phillips, a devout Christian and the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, for violating the Colorado Antidiscrimination Laws (CADA).
His offense: refusing for sincere religious reasons to prepare a custom-made wedding cake for Charlie Craig and David Mullins, a gay couple.

I am waiting on a muslem bakery to be sued for the same thing...

Okay my question still stands: were they fined by a government entity or did they loose a lawsuit?
It may seem like semantics but the word fined means you broke a law and were caught by a government agent. Sued means a private individual brought a claim against you. The words we use set tone. Example: load a ghost clip into a murder machine. We all know they mean magazine into a semi auto rifle, but they choose certain words to illicit a emotional reaction, sometimes intentionally to mislead.

I'm not saying ric-San is trying to mislead us, and I'm not saying I agree with the outcome. I'm saying there's a difference between being fined and being sued.

One channel has already found an alternate platform:

    Oo2fX2H.jpg

Pornhub login for the gun-channels... that's like a Playboy subscription for the articles.
Back in the day... when there was more than articles...

Wait. Is Pornhub gonna eventually be no-porn and Only gun-channels?

    Damn liberals ruin everything.

BREAKING NEWS: PornHub Bans Gun Videos...Like they have a moral authority...lol

As a privately-held company that operates and manages many businesses and organizations within the adult film industry, we believe it is in our best interest to protect and serve our standing client base.

The MindGeek group has labored tirelessly for many years to produce and erect a foundation of quality content for a specific group of customers. We do not believe this new segment of unique visitors is a part of that group we have pushed to acquire.

As a result, starting today, our media team will be removing all channels and video content related, but not limited to the terms ‘guns’ and ‘firearms.’

We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any of our long standing customers who may have felt offended or bothered by the influx of recent content. The problem shall soon be rectified.

I'm not really upset about porn hub dropping the gun videos. We have females and young people that make and watch their videos. Do we really want them to have to go to a site like that to see them? I think not and somebody will pick up the gun videos that's more savory. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude or holier than thou but we are trying to promote a family oriented sport so I think we're better off. It might also have given our opponents some ammo to use against us. Just some thoughts!

Interview with two content providers about YouTube's new policy.

Kasarda’s channel “InRangeTV” has more than 150,000 subscribers and McCollum’s “Forgotten Weapons” has more than 700,000. They both make content that violates the new rules but don’t have plans to change what they are doing.
