There is so much wrong with the precedent and mindset behind that statement. What's next to ensure the safety and security of every American?

So what two regulations is he going to do away with? Wasn't that his campaign promise for every one new reg enacted he would do away with two? I'll take no more tax stamps for SBR's and compensators. Sure it's a pipe dream but that would be a fair trade.

I would love to think the President is so savvy that he figures he'll throw the grabbers a bone on a novelty item for good press before giving us some rights back but I think we all know better.

That would be something else if the gov did away with the tax stamp. I like the way you think.

I am most concerned about the wording below. If you put a lighter trigger into your AR you can fire it a little faster. Might even be able to more readily bump fire it from the hip also. Not now, but in the future if we get a complete sweep of the government by democrats oall sorts of antigun decisions could be made including rereading the meaning of current guns laws. I had an interesting conversation with someone that two years did not have an AR and now he tells me he has made 4 functional 80% receivers into complete rifles. He has friends that are burying guns under barns and such.
As long as I can get 10 rounders my ability to defend myself will not be too impeded. The killer in that school massacre I am told was using 10 rounders since they were a better fit in the back pack he was using for concealment and he stopped shooting when his weapons jammed and he could not clear it.
I still have my sks, lever guns, and bolt guns along with pump action shotguns so I can legally make do with what the laws leave me until they go to confiscate everything which could happen. I am concerned about self defense and if you use an illegal gun even for a good shoot you still can go to jail.

Seriously, how does this new law read? If you already own a bump stock do you have to destroy it or remove it from the state - or are further sales just prohibited?

As far as requiring 21 to purchase a long gun - is that just retail purchase? What about those under 21 that already own firearms? What about a parent who buys a Cricket rifle and gives it to their 8 year old?

This all just seems it is for show and will have no true effect on anything related to crimes or shooting...

The question is certainly important. I know at least one person that told me that was exactly what he was going to do. I know he has never had a single combat course. Elite groups like the SAS found semiauto fire to be more effective for trained soldiers for killing people that are visible.
I have no experience with bump stocks and none of the schools of combat or instructors that I follow use them. So there is no way I am going to sequester/ hide one away for the end of the world. They might be useful on a semiauto version of a SAW that can hold up to sustained fire. If bumbstocks are illegal and you want rapid fire, might as well get the real thing and go FA I would say which I also will not be doing.
Not Illegal:
I think FA parts for the AK for example by themselves are not illegal and could be legally hidden, although I am not a lawyer sure. But an AK with that 3rd pin hole is considered a machine guns will get you put jail. Put in the pin hole after Armageddon if you think it will help. But I see no reason do such things.
