He was required to sign it for it to be in force. He did not sign it. Hence the current problems.

All that was accomplished was his attorney committing, and admitting to committing in the media (in an effort to protect Trump), an illegal, and unreported, in-kind campaign contribution.

Former Presidential candidate John Edwards was prosecuted for almost the exact same thing.

For those alleging that Trump did not even know about the payment:

Whether or not Cohen paid Daniels without Trump's knowledge is a central question, given that acting on behalf of a client without that client knowing could be a violation of New York state bar rules.

Snake eyes you made the point for me. A porn star is not going to have the legal resources of a foreign nation. Her motivations are not complex, she wants money and fame. If a billionaire with all of his high powered lawyers cannot even deal with her and close the loopholes then . . .

You know what - Fuck it - to use your terms so that nothing is lost in translation. If you don't get it by now, if you don't see the train coming down the track -heading right towards this stalled administration then - who am I to try to point it out to you. Just keep pouring out your foul language and your hatred.

Sorry you had bad experiences with lawyers.

    You made my point.

You sincerely believe that a mistake by a billionaire's high-powered LAWYERS translates into a definitive judgement about that person's skill at negotiating with foreign governments.

So, conversely, by your own "logic", a complete an utter IDIOT would be the world's best negotiator if he/she/it had the world's best LAWYERS.

LAWYERS speak their own secret code bookworm hidden legalese antiseptic language. Unfortunately, the system is so convoluted due to their generations of continually infecting it with more minutia that we are dependent on them to continue to wade through the muck.

"Negotiations" does NOT equal "contract verbiage".

Negotiation: "I made him an offer he couldn't refuse"
Contract: the piece of paper the guy signed

Two separate areas, each with its own levels of expertise.
    Trump is NOT A LAWYER.

Your entire premise is really a judgement on the LAWYER, but You are so fixated on making a "train coming down the tracks", that you Twist it into a prosecution of the POTUS.

Just. Like. A. LAWER. Would. Do.

Which is why I pointed out earlier how your revelation of your job explains why you post the way you do.

Now, is this response laid out clearly enough, or is it considered "hatred", still?

Because I'm trying to cut back on my fucking foul language, too.

You know ,none of this matters to me. If Trump runs again I'll vote for him again. I doubt that all this arguing has changed anyone's mind. I know for a fact it hasn't changed mine. Arguing with anyone about their political beliefs is about the same as trying to change a persons religious beliefs, it's a waste of time. I'm going to try to stop responding to these threads as it accomplishes nothing and waste time that I could be doing something productive. Cheers

For those alleging that Trump did not even know about the payment:

Yes, exactly and if you caught the press briefing on this Sanders has admitted that Trump was involved in the hush money cover up. Never really cared for Sanders but she has a really tough job and I don't think anyone could do that job better than her.

On a related topic - Korea - Trump has just undercut Tillerson again with a tweet regarding the possible upcoming discussions. He really needs to learn that less is more when it comes to tweets and let your people do their job without interference. We are not talking about trolling an awards show, we are talking about negotiations with a nuclear power, who has the capability hit us with a nuclear warhead and is potentially crazy enough to do it. Worse they need money and selling warheads and ICBM is a great way to raise some cash.

This is one of the jokes that Trump told at a recent dinner. It is funny

Trump himself offered the best preview of his move during last Saturday's Gridiron dinner in Washington, a white-tie affair for journalists, where few in attendance expected they'd be covering news of an upcoming U.S.-North Korea summit in a matter of days.

"I won't rule out direct talks with Kim Jong Un. I just won't," the President said. "As far as the risk of dealing with a madman is concerned, that's his problem, not mine."

Word. Because that's exactly how they got the technology to start with; A. Q. Khan wanted to line his pockets with some cold hard cash.

Currently, NK has zero incentive not to simply pass on the technology to the first group of people who can help thier economic situation.

Jeb, Your posts are entertaining and I appreciate your zeal for the left wing agenda. I just don't agree. Thats part of what makes America great. Whether youre right or wrong, its part of the freedoms we enjoy in this country. I am glad you have the gun forum to defend your political views, but frankly, I doubt your going to change any minds on here and are likely wasting valuable time. But, have at it. It really does look like the N Korea meeting is a trap for Trump. It is similar to what the previous NK "great leader" did to Clinton. In that case the administration provided millions of dollars of humanitarian aid to N Korea in exchange for their agreement not to test anymore ballistic missiles. The aid was delivered and less than three weeks later North Korea tested another ballistic missile.

The problem for Trump is if he backs down now he looks bad, if the meeting is a dud he looks bad, and if he makes any concessions then, going by history, the N.Koreans will renig after they have received the benefit of the bargain, which will make Trump look bad.

Trump is really going to have to have his act together for this one. He needs to surround himself with actual expert on Korea and listen to their advice if he wants to avoid a fiasco. He cannot pull a Stormy Daniels on this one.

I agree. I do have some legit concerns about the man in charge. We are starting to see his true colors on guns (which is obviously the biggest issue for most folks here) Also the Republican party is fumbling a golden opportunity to really push its agenda - It effectively controls the government and yet not much is happening. Every week, we hear of more resignations from within the administration, and more waste of tax payer money on frivolous items such as tea sets by Trump appointees and more silly trips to Mara Largo to play golf. The democratic party in Texas is highly motivated and had a great turn out for the most recent special elections. This may be a foreshadowing of things to come. I am concerned that a bunch of anti-gun candidates are going to win in the mid term elections and our collective gun rights will suffer for it.

Right now there is no clear vision as to what the GOP wants to do going forward on any issue - tariffs, DACA, guns, infrastructure, North Korea, anything. The government is understaffed and cannot seem to focus on more than one issue at a time. Blame for this lack of leadership has to fall on the leaders, Trump, Mcconnell and Ryan. But these guys will not really suffer for their inaction, we will when the suddenly a new "assault weapons" ban passes congress and Trump signs it.

What's really interesting is over the last 6 monthes or so a reoccurring theme on NPR is a fractured Democratic Party, that lacks vision and direction.
If that's true(and NPR knows much more about the Democratic Party than I do), mid terms should be really fun and exciting(except for the whole, outcomes will potentially affect our lives for the worse).

Well, that went about as usual.

Trump's bold stroke on North Korea dissolves into confusion

“Look, they’ve got to follow through on the promises they made,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a briefing Friday—raising the possibility that a meeting may never happen – even though the White House had touted it as a major achievement less than 24 hours earlier.

Now this is spot on. The Republicans need to get their act together because if it is Trump vs. someone who is not a radical left winger then we may have a Democratic prez next time.

pretty sure that whoever is nominated by the dems, will be a big time leftist/globalist...

the days of conservative, constitution following democrats is gone, socialism has infected the party to the core....it would not surprise me if jerry brown runs, tom perez or kamala harris

Trump VA secretary acknowledges bad 'optics' of European trip

In a scathing report released Wednesday about a trip Shulkin took to Europe last year, the VA inspector general said Shulkin’s chief of staff, Vivieca Wright Simpson, changed an email to make it appear Shulkin was going to be honored at a special dinner during the trip, thus necessitating his wife’s travel.

And that is this week alone, gentlemen. Im pretty sure that we dont even want to get started on the "parade" that is going to take at least $30 million that could be better spent taking care of our troops. Really, there are innumerably better ways to spend department of defense dollars.

Why hasn't ivieca Wright Simpson been charged with fraud?

That's money that should have went to caring for injured veterans. Not a fricken European vacation for the VA secretary where he and his wife enjoyed time at a Wimbledon match.
