Getting ready to set up my garden, and i need a inexpensive 22 for rodent control.. Prefer bolt action, single shot, or lever action. No need for safe queens just functionality.
Alternatives could be a PCP airgun, or cmmg 22 conversion kit.
    Thanks

A synthetic stocked Davey Cricket 22 rifle is an inexpensive start. Just about a one hand point and shoot weapon for snakes and such.

I'm not up to speed on air rifles but it seems they're pretty potent these days. Just another option if all you need is a rodent gun.

Yeah JW me either.. I know someone on here is a airgun guru hopefully they chime in.
I would be interested in a air gun just for the fact I wouldn't have to play the find .22 ammo price gouging game..
I do know the PCP air guns are a little pricey.

You may try browsing thru the Air Rifles section. I would think that some of the better rifles would more than a uses Cricket as well. Good luck on the search.

Take a look at the Crossman 2240 series of air pistol and carbine. I had Crossman build me a 177 and have since built a 22 version. Both are extremely accurate and cheap to shoot. 20170618_130745.jpg 20170528_142328.jpg

They both are, but the mods are easy, effective and cheap.
I got tired of searching for .22 just to do a little backyard plinking.

Good information, thanks, powderless .22 rounds

I use my kids Savage rascal in the backyard for critter control. Works great! Makes it a little challenge being such a tiny rifle! But works great.

I shoot these powderless .22 rounds out of it and it knocks the squirrels out for the count with no noise!

Just watch out shooting them out of full size .22 rifles. They can squib and get stuck in a dirty barrel. I shoot them only out of a handgun or out of my child's little Savage Rascal bolt action and don't have any problems! A little more noise out of a handgun! But still pretty darn quiet! I have both the regular powderless colibri and the super colibri. One is about 350 FPS and the super is about 550 FPS.
