I keep the plastic gun cases, and only the cardboard boxes for guns that are not forever keepers in my mind. Once a gun makes that status, I do not need the box, and out it goes! All other packaging like scope boxes go straight to the trash.

I have probably left a few boxes in house attics that I have moved out of! :)

But I just throw any and all up in the attic rafters or somewhere up there! I've only ever sold two guns in my lifetime so far. Had boxes for both. We have moved multiple times and my wife always asked me why I boxed up my boxes to only throw them up in the attic again! I just say, heck I don't know, but I just do.

I say that I'd like to keep them for selling purposes etc... But I hardly sell any! So who knows why I really hold onto them!

I keep them. I’ve always kept handgun boxes but started keeping long gun boxes too about 20 years ago.
Check GB and see what certain used boxes are going for and some of them aren’t that old.
