The article makes it sound like a student helping his classmates solve a math equation, made a sarcastic comment concerning the square-root symbol, and all of a sudden the snowflake collective felt threatened.
Result? Sheriffs visit his home to do a search for weapons (warrant?), the school BANs him from the campus pending an Expulsion hearing, and regardless, they're gonna do a "threat assessment" on him, whatever that means.
Hopefully this BS doesn't make it to his permanent record.
I can only imagine what would've happened if the parents stood up against the unlawful search-and-possible-seizure and told the school administration and sheriffs to go F themselves and concentrate on real criminals, not math tutors who make jokes without considering the snowflake audience.
I can attest this to be the truth. As a math major there were many times I was ready to go full-on "I'll-be-your-Huckleberry" in Differential Equations class.
I agree Latch especially if you make your calculation error at the start of the problem. We used differential calculus price stocks and bonds in Finance class. Glad I only had to use that in the classroom. Computers are a lot more accurate.
After allegedly waving around a slice of pizza that was possibly shaped like a gun, 10-year-old Nicholas Taylor has been forced to eat lunch at the “silent table” at his Smyrna, Tenn. school for six days, WKRN reports.
According to the report, David Youree Elementary School officials said Taylor “threatened other students” with a slice of pizza that had bites out of it in a way that made it look like a gun.
