That's what I heard this morning, i don't know enough about hipaa to know how reliable that maybe, as in hearsay vs confirmable.
I also haven't looked into it at all since I heard it this morning.

No the President should punish Russia for meddling with our internal affairs. Congress passed a law authorizing this action, just last year specifically so that Trump could sanction Russia but he decided not to do anything with this power

You want to extend first amendment right to foreign spies??? Listed to the press conference, it is only 8 minutes long. Russian operatives came to this country assumed the identities of American citizens and then screwed with our election process. Your response is that we should give these spies first amendment rights?? Wow, and y'all call me a socialist

I already did watch that ridiculous briefing. The indictments say they assumed American identities to make their posts more believable. The covered their tracks by spoofing/routing their ISP addresses. Woooo, so sneaky.

Bottom line: they "meddled" by posting on social media. That's nothing worse than what every other politically-charged individual does on social media.

Our Bill of Rights is meant to help protect our Citizens. Just because some foreigners typed some controversial twitter posts doesn't mean the POTUS needs to set a precedent of hunting them down. For what? Influencing the weak-minded? In that case, POTUS should go after the obviously slanted media outlets, too, right? No? Good for the goose, but not the gander?

As for the argument of "well, Congress authorized a bill for sanctions"... that's why there's a system of checks and balances. They are the Legislative Branch. He's the Executive Branch.

Finally, for this post, I've never called you a socialist, but I Know "I" sure as hell am not one.

You understand the hypocrisy of members of this board making that statement, right?

Nope. Seems like we are all discussing things online, in a social outlet.

Oh wait, that means we're being influenced and controversially divided, huh? I guess POTUS should sanction all of us...

They did this by stealing innocent American's social security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses and other personal information. They then used this information to open bank accounts in these American's names, and some forum members here just want to give them a pass.

No sorry, that's aggravated identity theft. Its wrong. Its always wrong. It always will be wrong. No matter where you stand politically.

Identity theft is something entirely different. If those allegations are true, then sure, they broke the law. But identity theft, by itself, is NOT "election meddling"... did they vote with those ID's? Did they rig an election or tamper with ballots?

    Back on topic:

If this kid had a TBI, or was on drugs, or was susceptible to hypnotic suggestion from internet trolls, the end result was the same: he had almost Un-fettered access to arguably the most precious "things" in the world to hundreds of parents: those kids.

To solve the problem of these shootings is a multi-pronged approach. Yeah, social changes over the years have resulted in more kids without a proper set of behavioral limits and innate sense of right/wrong/consequences/sympathy/etc. How to fix that? Sheesh, you think gun-control is a hotbed topic, "properly raising a child" will take first place every time.

Another "prong" is the tangible "what can we defend against" debate. What kind of additional security would've stopped this coward? What kind of policies or resources might've resulted in a completely different outcome? How much of those changes can we live with? Evil will always exist. No solution is perfect.

Personally, I feel like security is too thin for the current world we live in. With modern technology, we could have a better system in place, and it would have little or no noticeable footprint to alarm the average person.

This should save a lot of questions and answers, for those that are willing to read.

Link to searchable text of the 37 page indictment

In addition, while it is clear THIS indictment did not involve any US Citizens, immediately after the press conference another sealed indictment was released, along with a corresponding guilty please, involving the American that fabricated all the fake U.S. driver's licenses for them.

Its serious stuff, gentlemen. We have a US citizen providing forged documents for a baker's dozen of Russian nationals that are running around committing bank and wire fraud, with social security numbers and complete identities stolen from our fellow citizens, including the use of stolen credit card numbers, in our own country.

To argue that there's simply nothing wrong with this is.......at best, disingenuous.

Jeb, may I please ask what club do you teach at ?? Which "gun club/range club" do you belong to that the NRA "made everything worse ?? --- SAWMAN

ERGC - Escambia River Gun Club - we used to be ERML or Escambia River Muzzle Loaders.

As for the NRA - for 30 years we leased the land for our range from the county. As more homes were built near the range, the new neighbors began to complain to the county that the range was not safe - So at the county's request we went to the NRA and asked them to send down some reps to inspect the range and it operations to see if they thought it was safe or if there were some needed improvements. We paid a significant amount of cash to the NRA to pay for these expert's travel and time. They came down did their inspection and then left. Time passed with no report. The county want's answers the neighbors want answers, so we call and press the NRA to send us there report. The report finally comes and it is stunningly short. It states that there is a gun range and our address - nothing else - no safety findings no safety recommendations. We paid several thousand dollars to the NRA to come down to our range and tell us we have a range. Well hell, thanks for that.

We finally resolved the issue with the county and the neighbors but with virtually no help from the NRA and in fact the delay caused by the NRA non answer just delayed the resolution of the dispute.

So its okay for other law breakers like illegal aliens just not Russians?
    Back to Topic

illegal aliens are not agents of a rival foreign power (you do remember the Cold War correct?) who have come here, stolen American ID and set up a state run espionage operation designed to sabotage our election. Are you truly not able to see the difference?

I don't think a Kapernick afro would look good on you.

I posted that as a sarcastic jab to get the thread back reasonably close to topic, and stop derailing it with Russian troll and Mueller posts....

I see it failed, so LET'S GET THE THREAD BACK ON SUBJECT PLEASE!!!

it is so clear to me, and others. it is not the GUNS!!!

it is a breakdown of values and moral and family fabric over the last 50 years that is responsible for these events.

my mother would have whipped me until I bled on the back of my legs and back if I had EVER taken her gun to school and she found out.....

and let the law have me, and thrown me out of the house.

where is the parental control these days? oh, I see , whippings are too cruel...esp in liberal dominated broward county..

ok, take ALL the guns away from law abiding folks, ALL of them, now what happens?

after the first 60 days, when the have-nots pillage, kill, burn and destroy, they will be begging for some guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens..

as for the donor who wants to be a liberal, the hell with him, other will donate in stead.

I while back I criticized the NRA, this predictable response to this shooting is another example of NRA's reactive rather than proactive nature. School shootings are going to keep happening in this country. That is a sad but undeniable truth. The knee jerk response to a school shooting is the blame to tool used rather than the shooter or the security flaws that allowed the shooting to happen or the LEO failures that did not timely identify the shooter so that he could be stopped.

The NRA needs to get ahead of this. It needs to provide courses for schools regarding security, it should sponsor bills that will require schools to have addtitional armed security in the school. It needs to sponsor bills that will increase spending on identifying and helping individuals who have anti-social emotional or mental problems. I am sure that there are other things that could be done.

If Donald Trump has linked these two items on a public forum,

    which he has,

Why would it be in appropriate here to do so? Is Donald Trump wrong? Or do you disagree with his actions?
