yup, it's the one on fowler, apparently they just changed the name and number. called them and they want $300 to coat a pair of cast iron exhaust manifolds. at about $6 that rust-oleum high heat paint is looking pretty good.

that might be pretty labor intensive....wouldn't they first need to bead blast them down to bare metal before they powder coated them?

just found out they've changed their name to Thermodyne and seem to still be in business.

Not exactly. Thermodyne has been in business for quite a few years off Palafox near Fairfield. They bought the property where Powell painting or powder coating used to be.

BBQ grill paint will take the heat, basic Rustoleum will not. I don't know if they have a high temp version. I do love their black Hammer Coat. Have it on my choppers forks: 4 years, no chips.

Rustoleum or other "high heat" paints you get locally will not last long at all. I have to paint the headers on my race car every year or so and that's usually with only 2 or 3 race weekends. Not a big deal since it comes apart a lot anyway. But you might not want to have to take the manifolds off your vehicle regularly to re-paint. Try something from a racing parts distributor such as Pegasus or jegs. Products there should work better and last longer. Might have to spend $20 or so per can but will be better than the cheaper stuff.

1200-1400 degree range I think...my stove has been touched up once, still there.
