Hardware store but know what size roll pin you need.
A good locally owned hardware store like we’re lucky enough to have here in Baker with Danny Brunson’s Baker Parts

0.625 long and 0.093 in diameter.

That transfers to a hardware store measurement of 3/32 x 5/8.

    Not to hijack the thread...

But could the more experienced AR folks recommend a parts kit that would be beneficial to us noobs. I have never built or disassembled one, but there seems to be a number of small, easily lost parts.

    Thanks

I have a couple of Brownells "oops" spare parts kits that have come in handy. I think they're about $20 or so.

Mostly I try to keep take down pin and safety springs and detents around, because they're easily lost or sometimes the springs get mangled, but I also dont mind having a few extra sets of FCG parts because sometimes when you get a build kit these parts are wonky, and its nice to be able to just go grab a set. I havent mangled a roll pin since I learned to chamfer the leading edge before trying to put it in. Everything else seems pretty hard to mess up.
