We are seeing less and less deer and getting more and more coyotes on camera, sometimes on food plots in the middle of the day.
What’s the best way to get rid of them, night hunting, trapper? I never see them while hunting.
This is just across the line in Alabama, south of Brewton.

I got a fox pro caller, 2 shooters and some open land, night vision would help. There are snares for them and traps, just depends on what else is there for by catch.

A trapper is the best, legal way...

    Otherwise, Timic...

Temic is a bad idea. Kills anything that eats the Coyote.

Two poison-free ideas- Treble hooks on a wire leader-bait with chicken or meat, hang high enough they
have to jump for it, you will find them hanging in the morning.

Two inch sponge squares with a few drops of blood & bacon fat, or other flavoring. They can't digest the sponge,
    it kills them.

IMO . . . too indiscriminate. Kills hunting dogs, hooks deer, humans, and other non target animals as they pass by.
Most likely illegal to use also. --- SAWMAN

Not to mention it takes a sorry POS to do something like that.
Agreed... I shoot several a year. You can't realistically shoot enough to effect the population in my opinion. Trapping them works very well, but it is an art...

Poisoning them works, but as said, obviously not the best way, nor is it legal. It is effective though.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I really don’t want to do anything illegal, indiscriminate or even inhumane for that matter.
Anybody know a trapper who would do it for the income from the pelts?
2nd choice would be a few guys with night vision scopes who know what they are doing and do this for a hobby.
But the lease is in Alabama so you would need an Alabama License.

I believe you got to be permitted to hunt anything at night in alabama other than 'possums or coons. But I'll shoot them during daylight hours for free. FrankT offered too. I have several electronic callers and remote decoys and haven't tried out my Boss Dogg caller yet. Still sealed in the box. I'm permitted in Fl to hunt at night on some private property for varmints. Yes, I know most people don't need a permit, but that is if you own the property, otherwise you need to be permitted.
I have a few steel traps and snares, but don't use them anymore. Got lots of lure baits too. Anyway, whichever way you go, g/l.

have not tried it myself but a friend suggested digging a hole as deep as you can and dump 50 lbs or so of dog food in it,,cover it back up and pack it hard,, sprinkle some on top,,, they will dig for it and in the process you can pop 1 or 2,,,

Put and raise the "BOUNTY" on them :ranger:

If that don't work, than spade the "FEMALE YODES" and the male will screw themselves to death

That sounds like too much work. I heard a feller say he staked his bitch out while in heat, and used an electronic varmint caller. Claimed it worked well. IDK, I've never tried it, but I can see where it's plausible. :eyebrows:

Zeroed In, I just might take you and Frank up on that after deer season ends February 10th.
Are you able to hunt in Alabama? The lease is just across the line, about 40 miles from Pace. 1200 acres.
I might even go with you guys if I won’t hinder you.
I would love to see some coyote carcasses laid out.

Yeah Alabama is too far for this old man but if you go with Zeroed I may send you with my rifle and night vision to have some fun. Just need to show you how to use it

Thanks for the offer Frank but it sounds like we would be doing this during the day and I’ve got guns for that.
Zero, I can’t respond to PMs on my phone but will get on the computer tomorrow. Thanks.
