    I had two root canals a couple weeks ago. Essentially painless. One visit and it was over. Only pain was in the wallet.

    Little late to the party but another vote for Care Credit. That's what I used to pay for my Lasik procedure. I think it was 12 months no interest on that. Hard to beat.

    And thats why one shouldn't look for the cheapest endodontist :)

    My only recommendation would be to do whatever it takes to keep your teeth, even if with a crown. Man-made replacements (dentures) are just not the same as natural teeth, so please think long & hard before having any pulled. I'm fortunate to have decent (not great) dental insurance, and at nearly 66 I have all of my real teeth (with a couple of crowns & minus the wisdom teeth) & plan to keep 'em until no longer needed. JMO

    well i finally went to the endodontist. had him take a new Xray. he couldn't see what my dentist was seeing and said that for the time being i didn't need a root canal. i think i'm going to find a new dentist.

    Endodontists are money making fools. If he claims he sees no infection and no reason for a root canal, Id believe him.

    No pain? A dying root is a unique pain, to be sure.
