I am going to be replacing the sights on my Shield. For thoes of you who have attempted or done it I need your opinions. I have seen many post that say it is hard to do. Apex says do not use a sight pusher tool, because of the design of the sight. Apex says use a light hammer and a punch to get it off. I actually don't have a Bench Vise, but need to get one. My question is whether or not it is worth getting a Bench vise and attempting the job myself, or should I just take it to a Gunsmith? If the answer is Gunsmith, what would be your suggestion on a local one. I live in Milton.

I've got a sight pusher. I sent my shield to Apex after bigger hammer, bigger vice didn't work. I got the sight pusher after that. I've done a couple without issue. What sights are you looking for?

Try the Apex armorer's block for the m&p. It definitely takes a bit of work to get off the sight, but you will be able to do it with a punch and the block.

PM me when they show up. If you've got time, we should be able to get them swapped without beating on the old ones.
