Got a complete upper awhile back from PSA. Just got around to shooting it yesterday. It was slinging groups of 2-3 inches at 50 yds.
I tried several different handloads and two factory loadings. Brought it back home pissed off. While cleaning the upper noticed the low pro gas block was in contact with the "free floating" rail. Not good at all.
Took it to a buddy that has a small machine shop and he turned the ID down where the gas block was. NOW . . enough clearance so that when on a bipod or front bag there is adaquate clearance.
If your gun will not shoot, this could be the problem. --- SAWMAN

Yeah, I noticed this on the upper I got from psa recently also. I just cut the handguard back just short of the gas block. Sub MOA now and is a nice tack driver.

Forgot to mention . . . talked to a guy on Monday that had his 10.5" 300BLK from PSA come through like that also.
His fix was to install a different forearm, however I'm not that rich.
I did call PSA about this and they were pretty well "ho-hum" about it. --- SAWMAN

Never had a problem with Colt...

Never had a problem with Colt.

Do have a PSA Blem complete lower, with Colt 1/7 A2 Barrel, & a Pre-ban Bushmaster, with Colt 1/7 20" HBAR.

A few mags won't drop free from the PSA; but, I'll get rid of the mags, before I get rid of that PSA Lower.
