Stumbled on this watching a video on a machinist's site demonstrating precision ground flat stones.. they use ultrasonic cleaner to clean them...

while i currently do not possess any precision ground stones, i do have a few deburring stones, and of course general purpose bench stones for sharpening...and an ultrasonic cleaner which does not get all that much use..

the ultrasonic cleaning method is amazing...i started with my deburring stones in water and a small amount of simple green...for 10 min. they now look brand new..

i had one 30-40 year old bench stone fine/coarse and used full strength simple green for about 30 min and it looks like new..
    highly recommended...

sorry for not having before and after pics... i have a pos flip phone..
